There's a version of this brand that started long before we had a name for it.
It started in a grandfather's closet. In the weight of a jacket that had been worn for twenty years and looked better for it. In watching men dress not to impress, but because they simply cared about craft, about showing up right, about the quiet confidence of wearing something built to last.
That instinct for elegance traveled across an ocean and took root in Kentucky. It got passed down through a closet, and eventually to us.
We inherited that eye. Eventually we stopped waiting for someone else to make what we were looking for. So we built it.
Silk & Iron was built for a specific kind of man.
One who plays golf on Saturday and knows his bourbon by Tuesday. Who grew up around horses and fairways and lake houses and autumn afternoons at Keeneland. Who has watched the silks fly at Churchill Downs enough times to know exactly what they mean.
We make clothes for the full picture of that life. On the course, at the bar, on the dock, at the Derby. Everything worth doing in between.
Every piece we make carries something from that inheritance.
The harlequin pattern that runs through our linings and collar stands is borrowed directly from the silks worn by jockeys at Churchill Downs. A tradition stretching back to 1875, where every pattern was registered to an owner and meant something specific from a quarter mile away. Ours does too.
Our construction is informed by the Italian craft tradition that shaped our taste for quality. We sample. We test. We reject. We start over. Nothing ships until it earns its place.
